They are seeking a graduate to undertake a 10-week placement for a junior graphics developer to work on a high-profile technology and multimedia projects within the national sports industry.
The primary focus of this role is to assist with the development of various graphics projects across our programme outputs. The chosen candidate will assist with basic automation, scripting, design and construction of graphics scenes for use in live television. You will also be given an opportunity to work as a graphics operator on live venues across the country at peak times in the sports season.
The person should be highly skilled, enthusiastic and inquisitive individual who has a passion for technology and sport. They will be required to work well on their own and as part of a team, although training will be given, the successful applicant will need to be a self confident self starter who is able to act on their own initiative.
In addition, applicants should be keen and quick to learn new technical skills and applications, as well as be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. An ability to work flexible hours is essential, as due to the nature of our work, evening and weekend work will be required.
Technical skills:
- Specific graphics and software packages - Although not all are essential, experience of any of the following will be viewed as preferential.
- VIZRT (Artist, Trio, Data Pool, Content Pilot, Transition Logic),
- Microsoft Office
- Photoshop
- Basic knowledge of programming principles and any programming language
- Knowledge of XML and XSL scripting
- Live TV production knowledge
- Additional fields of specialisation will be viewed upon beneficially.
